I’ve lived a thousand lives in one body. I’ve been the showgirl in heels no one could walk in. The single mom trying to make rent. The addict’s wife. The dreamer. The poet. The woman screaming silently behind a smile.
And for years, I didn’t tell my story. Not fully.
I carried it—like glitter in a bruise. I danced through it. Survived it. And I kept quiet, thinking no one would understand the pain that came wrapped in sequins and spotlights. But now, I realize that these engaging stories need to be shared. My experiences have shaped my poetry novels and allowed me to embrace my voice. It's time to break the silence.
